Keanu Reeves confirmed to reprise
Keanu Reeves has been confirmed to reprise his role as Neo in the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise, Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday. The film, titled The Matrix Resurrections, is set to hit theaters on December 22, 2023.
What is the story about?
The plot of The Matrix Resurrections is still under wraps, but it is expected to pick up after the events of The Matrix Revolutions, which was released in 2003. The film will also feature the return of Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe.
“I’m incredibly excited to be working with Lana again, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to revisit these characters and this world,” Reeves said in a statement. “The Matrix is a special film, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do with it next.”
The Matrix Resurrections is directed by Lana Wachowski, who co-wrote the screenplay with David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon. The film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures.
