Pink Floyds David Gilmour Weve Forgiven Keir Starmer For Jailing Our Son Charlie

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour: 'We've forgiven Keir Starmer for jailing our son Charlie'

A man jailed for his part in a plot to sell cocaine valued at millions of pounds was the son of Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.

Charlie Gilmour, 28, was jailed in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

He was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

His father, David Gilmour, has now said that he and his wife have forgiven the Labour leader, who was the Director of Public Prosecutions at the time.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Gilmour said: "We've forgiven Keir Starmer. He was just doing his job."

Gilmour also said that he hoped his son would be released from prison soon.

He said: "I'm very, very sad about what's happened to Charlie. I think it's a terrible waste of a life."

Gilmour's comments come after Starmer was criticized by some Labour members for his handling of the case.

Some have argued that Starmer should have been more lenient towards Gilmour, given his age and lack of previous convictions.

However, others have defended Starmer's decision, saying that he was simply following the law.

The Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement that it "takes the issue of drug trafficking very seriously" and that it "will continue to prosecute those who are involved in this crime."
