From the Obamas to Pusha T, Black Celebrities Gather to Support Tennis and Community

The US Open Opening Night Gala was a star-studded affair, with a who's who of Black celebrities in attendance to support tennis and the USTA. Among the guests were former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, rapper Pusha T, and tennis legend Serena Williams.

The gala, which was held at Arthur Ashe Stadium, raised funds for the USTA Foundation, which supports tennis programs for underserved communities. The event also honored the late Arthur Ashe, the first Black man to win the US Open and Wimbledon.

During the evening, four players with a combined 43 Grand Slam singles titles took to the court for an exhibition match. The players were Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

The US Open Opening Night Gala is an annual event that has become a fixture on the New York social calendar. The event is a celebration of tennis and the Black community, and it is a testament to the power of sports to bring people together.
